What is a type approval?

An EU type approval (EU homologation) proves that a vehicle meets the regulations and standards set by the European Union (EU) for road vehicles. The EU has established a set of rules that cars must comply with to ensure safety, environmental friendliness, and other requirements.

To achieve EU Homologation, car manufacturers need to demonstrate that their vehicles meet these EU regulations. This involves conducting various tests and providing documentation to prove the car's compliance with safety features, emissions limits, technical specifications, and other criteria.

Once a car receives EU Homologation, it is considered legally approved to be sold and driven on the roads within the European Union member countries. This certification ensures that the car meets the EU's strict standards and helps protect consumers by promoting vehicle safety, environmental sustainability, and overall quality.
